- BY MARGA BELLOSILLO

IS there more to life than just working for a living? This is the fundamental question Hive Manila Creative Solutions founders sought to answer when they built their company.

Hive Manila Creative Solution is a startup company from Alabang, Muntinlupa and takes pride in their digital services such as virtual assistance, content management, mobile/ web development and business outsource processing.

It all started back in the day when founder, Roland Opeda dreamt of putting up his own business. “Roland really wanted to have his own company ever since college. He tried several attempts, however, most of these failed to get to the level of a sustainable company. Everytime this happens, Roland would go back to working in the industry and this would allow him to learn more on how to better run his dream business,” recalled cofounder and wife Ciarra.

Roland and Ciarra were both Information Technology graduates. Roland has over 15 years of experience in the software industry and has been working freelance for local and international clients. Ciarra on the other hand, has been a virtual assistant since 2009 but aside from that, she also put up her own baking business called, Sweets by Happy Mommy.

In 2017, Roland eventually retired from the corporate world to focus on his children and freelancing. The two eventually launched Hive Manila Creative Solutions in August this year.

“We officially registered Hive Manila Creative Solutions this year. However, in the past years, we have had freelance projects. We currently have five employees working remotely,” Roland shared.

The local digital service startup was created and designed from the ground up to be fully operated by telecommuting or also known as work from home. Roland and Ciarra Opeda of Hive Manila and their brood.

“We don’t track time, there are unlimited amount of leaves. We only expect our staff to be professional and mature enough to focus on delivering results… In this regard, we are able to deliver services faster, the clients are happier and our staff can use their time more for themselves most especially for their family,” he further elaborated.

According to Ciarra, their startup is perfect for those stayathome parents who want to work and at the same time spend time with their children.

Since the startup wa s

launched in August, their freelance clients have doubled. “We are dedicated to provide quality, dependable, and current digital services that are tried and tested in the international market,” Roland pointed out. In the near future, they plan to encourage more Filipinos to join their team. “We plan to create more jobs for the Filipino people most especially for parents who aim to work from home and be with their families 24/ 7. Aside from this, we are also looking at bringing in more international clients,” he concluded.
