I complained about my slow internet. PLDT techs arrived and tried to find the cause. They left after 30 minutes of inspection. Lo and behold, now I have no internet!

Our parish priests rarely offer confession­s. Advent is supposed to be the season of unloading sins to greet the birthday of the Redeemer so why not offer the service? Yet we see long lines of parishione­rs receiving communion. Why?

Trade war is like hurling smoke canisters into the sea to hide a vessel’s location. Funny thing is that they realize they could not see the whereabout­s of the enemy as well. And this results into indiscrimi­nate firing to make sure all targets are hit. The result ends up hurting themselves and their allies as well.

*** Watching again “The Men Who Built America” series, I can say that business giants like Carnegie, Rockefelle­r, Vanderbilt, JP Morgan and Ford were all the same. They only thought about winning or losing and those who got caught along the way were never their concern. It’s all about prestige, money and power. I presume their government was molded along this way until a stubborn man named Theodore Roosevelt shocked them all and brought them down to their knees.

There is that pattern of similarity of these events happening here in our soil for several decades. Yes, you know what I’m talking about. Ask that guy Juan de la Cruz. He surely knows what I’m talking about.

It is interestin­g to note that when somebody cracks a joke, some laugh and some do not. What is incomprehe­nsible are those who stand in-between who can’t even identify that it is such.
