Bong Go now adopted son of Legazpi City

-

CITING his involvement in pushing for infrastructure projects lined up for the Bicol Region via the “Build, Build, Build” program when he was still in the government, initiating the Malasakit Center at the Bicol Regional Teaching and Training Hospital (BRTTH), as well as his exemplification of the true spirit of a native of Legazpi City, Albay, the city council declared former special assistant to the President (SAP) and aspiring senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go as an adopted son of Legazpi.

The declaration was contained in a resolution of the SangguniangPanlungsod (City Council) of the City of Legazpi, dated February 4.

Presented to the former SAP on Friday, the resolution was certified by temporary secretary Aaron Apistar, city councilor Lilian Ramirez and acting Vice Mayor Vicente Baltazar 3rd.

Go also received a plaque that recognizes him as an adopted son of Legazpi City for “his invaluable time and effort in bringing to the President’s attention and in helping in the speedy resolution of the Batocabe case.”

AKO Bicol party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe was shot dead last December, allegedly on orders of political rival and Daraga (Albay) Mayor Carlwyn Baldo.

Go was in Legazpi City to attend the AKO Bikol Youth Summit organized by the AKO Bikol party-list.

He spoke to an audience composed of Albay government officials and youth sector leaders.

In the event, Go reminded the audience that the government of President Rodrigo Duterte “is in service for the helpless and hopeless” and urged them to support Duterte during his last three years as the nation’s leader.

He made time to visit nearby Barangay 28 that was razed by a fire that started on the same day, leaving one dead and 131 families homeless.

Go and his team dropped by to assure the survivors that he would be providing them food that they could eat immediately, as well as grocery items.

He promised school uniforms and school supplies for students who were affected by the fire so that they could go back to school as soon as possible.

Go guaranteed the residents who were affected by the fire that, in coordination with the barangay (village) captain, he would be contacting his friends in various government agencies so that residents may receive additional aid and support.

A candidate for the Senate in the May 2019 midterm elections, his legislative agenda includes programs for agriculture, housing, education, improved healthcare services delivery, anti-illegal drugs and criminality drive, anticorruption drive, long-term sports development, fire safety and prevention, creation of a Department of overseas Filipino workers, barangay welfare, and improved benefits for senior citizens.
