An open letter to people who seek love from others instead of showering themselves with self-love

- BY LIEZELLE ROY THE MANILA TIMES COLLEGE

I know you have questioned yourself multiple times. I know you have doubted yourself for the things that you weren’t able to do. I know people have made you feel that you are unloved, that you are unworthy and that you are different. They have made you feel that you are nothing. I know, because I had experienced the same things.

On this love month I want to remind that you are loved, that you are worth it, that you are capable of doing things. You are something. You deserve the best things in this world.

We have been told that today is about expressing and celebrating with your partner, but I’m telling you, it is more than what it is.

We have spent our time loving everyone, giving everything to people. Maybe, it is our time to love ourselves. It may sound simple, but have you ever given enough time to yourself? Have you ever loved yourself enough?

In this generation, we cannot deny that having a partner is a big issue, but I’m telling you to stop worrying about it. There is so much more to life than any other people. You just have to be patient and stay positive.

Some of you might rush things. Seeing those happy couples on social media makes you want to have a partner, but life doesn’t work that way; everything comes at the right time.

Let me tell you this; you are too young to worry about being in a relationship, to experience those heartbreaks. You just have to enjoy life and appreciate people who love you.

Be beautiful. Be confident. Be bold. Be strong. You deserve all the love and happiness in this world.
