Massive transport strike set
MAJOR transport groups are set to participate in the massive transportation strike scheduled today to protest the planned public utility vehicle ( PUV) modernization program. Efren de Luna, national president of the Alliance of Concerned Transport Organizations ( ACTO), told The Manila Times on Sunday that - nationwide activities against the modernization program.
Jun Magno, president of the Stop and Go Coalition, operators and drivers of his organization, ACTO, Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide, and some UV Express groups would participate in the protest.
Some local government units have canceled classes in all levels today. These include the cities of Bacolod, Bago, Iloilo, Marikina, Masbate, Parañaque, Pasay and Manila and the provinces of Pampanga and Rizal.
