THE Cultural Center of the Philippine­s (CCP) joins the celebratio­n of Museums and Galleries Month this October and invites the public to attend the CCP’s various activities and visit its exhibition­s.

For starters, QRated: The CCP DIY tour will be launched on October 15, 12 p.m. at the Bulwagang Carlos V. Francisco ( Little Theater Lobby). QRated is a public guided tour aided by QR code (quick response code) captions. This tour includes artworks from the CCP Visual Arts Collection on permanent display, exhibition spaces, performanc­e venues, architectu­ral details and other noteworthy spaces and facilities in the CCP Main Theater Building. QRated will allow the CCP audience to explore the wonders of the Center through their smartphone­s and enjoy instant access to the CCP’s rich content.

Next up is the Poster Printing Workshop with Hocus which will be held on October 17, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the CCP Bulwagang Juan Luna ( Main Gallery). In this event, guests can learn how to make screenprin­ted posters. This three-hour workshop will cover the process of making photograph­ic stencils and printing on paper. Topics to be discussed include sourcing of equipment and suppliers, preparatio­n of artwork/equipment, photo transfer of artwork to screen and printing techniques. Workshop fee is P2,500 inclusive of materials.

Another affair worth going is the textile printing workshop with Hocus on October 18, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Bulwagang Juan Luna ( Main Gallery). This three-hour screenprin­t on textile workshop will cover the process of making photograph­ic stencils and printing on fabric. Topics to be discussed include sourcing of equipment and suppliers, preparatio­n of artwork/equipment, photo transfer of artwork to screen and printing techniques. Workshop fee is P2,500 inclusive of materials.

Arts Online featuring Karl Castro, exhibit designer of Scenes Reclaimed exhibition will be on October 23, 2 to 4 p.m. at the CCP Museo ng Kalinangan­g Pilipino (MKP) Hall.

Meanwhile, the ongoing CCP exhibition­s include the following: Poster/ ity: 50 years of Art and Culture at the CCP until December 8 at the Bulwagang Juan Luna ( Main Gallery) and Pasilyo Guillermo Tolentino (3F Hallway Gallery); Carillo Cart Project (until October 27) at the Bulwagang Carlos V. Francisco ( Little Theater Lobby); Poklong Anading and Neil Fettling (until November 3) at the Bulwagang Fernando Amorsolo (Small Gallery), Pasilyo Victorio Edades (4th Floor Hallway Gallery), and 4th Floor Atrium.
