Quezon Killerwhal­e pockets overall crown in BEST swim challenge

POWERHOUSE Quezon Killerwhal­e Swimming Team copped the overall championsh­ip crown of the 3rd BEST Swimming Challenge Short Course held at the Colegio San Agustin swimming pool in Binan, Laguna.

The Quezon Killerwhal­e collected 2,023 points to earn the top honors while San Pedro Swimming Team settled for second and Batangas Killerwhal­e wound up third in the tournament supported by TheManilaT­imes, Behrouz Persian Cuisine and Colegio San Agustin.

Fifty- five tankers were named Most Outstandin­g Swimmers in their respective age- bands in Class AB, Class C and Motivation­al of the event that served as qualifying for Asian tournament­s and US Invitation­al Meet.

The MOS winners in Class AB were Shionloah San Diego, Dawn Camacho, Lia Babiera, Emilya Torres, Althea Villapena, Christine De Luna, Kelsie Cabangon, Nathan Adalin, Gabe Sy, Zahueed Sarmiento, Peter Dean, Julian Gonzales, Jahzeel Rosario Matthew Rala and Shane Ibarrola.

Earning MOS awards in the Class C category were Behrouz Mojdeh, Kean Sy, Lucas Leonor, James Alicer, Ben Calisin, Tynuel Modiong, Ryan Lotino, Jose Odonio, Mcymus Navarro, Maximus Maligat, Marx Dula, Jedrik Dy, Clara Maligat, Michelle Murphy, Marlen Calo, Princess Virrey, Zen Buhain, Justine Salagubang, Queen Tolentino, Kathrine Azores and Christine De Luna.

“It was a successful event once again. We are staging tournament­s like this to select swimmers for internatio­nal competitio­ns in Asia as well as tournament­s in the United States,” said Swimming Pinas team manager Joan Melissa Mojdeh.

Kylee Magtangob, Clara Maligat, Maya Tolentino, Ysabelle Asis, Akeisha Bernabe, Janina Virrey, Angela Babiera, Kean Sy, Lucas Leonor, Daniel Dimaano, Gellert Hernandez, Alexis Cantos, Joaquin Tolentino, Louis Leonor, Noah Buemio, Judd Esmael, Matthew Rala and Jedric Dy were the MOS in the Motivation­al class. The Most Outstandin­g Swimmer awardees in the 3rd BEST Swimming Challenge Short Course held at the Colegio San Agustin swimming pool in Biñan, Laguna.
