LISTED Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. has signed an agreement with Philippine Airlines (PAL) for the latter’s fuel supply.

Phoenix Petroleum Vice President for External Affairs, Business Development, and Security Raymond Zorrilla said in a text message that the independent oil company will supply PAL with 400,000 liters of its Jet A1 fuel monthly under the one-year deal.

PAL Holdings Inc. is the parent of PAL, the country’s flag carrier.

The Dennis Uy-led company currently provides PAL’s fuel requirements at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City.

“We are glad to be fueling the flights of one of Asia’s premier airlines, starting with its operations in Davao, which is where Phoenix Petroleum originated. Not only does this milestone speak volumes of the high quality of our fuel, but also allows us the opportunity to serve more Filipinos, becoming part of their journeys even offground,” Phoenix Petroleum Chief Operating Officer Henry Albert Fadullon said.

PAL is one of Phoenix’s aviation clients that would benefit from its recently established airside facility at Davao airport.

The facility includes a storage tank with a capacity of 160,000 liters of Jet A-1 fuel, a laboratory testing room for supply quality control, a staging area for trucks and aviation refuelers, and an office space.

In August this year, Phoenix Petroleum and Cebu Air Inc. renewed their partnership with the signing of a memorandum of agreement, extending the 15-year ties between the two companies.

Phoenix Petroleum shares ended flat at P11 each on Wednesday.
