BACOLOD CITY: Two of the three suspects in the murder of radio broadcaster Dindo Generoso in Dumaguete City were arrested on Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the two suspects as retired Police Corporal Glenn Corsame and 44-year-old Teddy Reyes Salaw, both residents of Dumaguete.

A third suspect and the alleged triggerman, Police Corporal Roger Rubio, is at large.

Police Colonel Julian Entoma, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) director, said the suspects were identified based on closed circuit television (CCTV) footage taken from several establishments near the crime scene.

The CCTV footage shows Rubio inside a pick-up truck parked at the city’s boulevard a few kilometers away from the crime scene.

When Generoso’s car passed the pick-up truck, Rubio got out of his vehicle and immediately get into a waiting motorcycle driven by Corsame.

The NOrPPO director said they were able to identify the truck based on the conduction sticker, while Corsame was identified through markings in the helmet he was wearing.

Salaw, meanwhile, was identified as the spotter and driver of the pick-up truck.

The police discovered that the truck had a fake license plate and was registered under the name of one Tomas Alegro.

They recovered Corsame’s mobile phone, which still had text messages between the suspects.

Police also recovered one .45 caliber pistol with eight live bullets from Salaw’s pocession.

Reports reaching the Presidential Task Force on Media Security indicated that the suspects are in the employ of a powerful politician in the province.

While the mastermind and the motive for Generoso’s killing are still the subject of police operations, appropriate charges are being prepared against Salaw and Corsame.

Generoso, a blocktime program anchorman at dyEM FM Bai Radio, succumbed to eight gunshot wounds in the head and body. `
