Legazpi bags ‘Seal of Good Local Governance’ anew

LEGAZPI City was among 380 local government units ( LGUs) across the country that received the “2019 Seal of Good Local Governance Award” (SGLG) award from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for their best practices.

DILG Secretary Eduardo Año handed over the plaque of appreciati­on and a P3.5- million check to Mayor Noel Rosal during the awarding ceremonies at the Manila Hotel.

In a phone interview, Rosal said the SGLG award is the highest recognitio­n given by the DILG to an LGU that has shown good governance and effective delivery of social services, and is practicing good management principles

“Our locality has improved, the investors are confident, that resulted in the continuous increasing of businesses and other establishm­ents operating in this city,” he added.

Asked about how the city government would make use of its cash award, Rosal said with the P3.5 million, they would purchase trucks for collecting garbage and disaster response equipment to be used for the operation of the 911 command center.

Legazpi City has been a recipient of the prestigiou­s SGLG award for the last four years.
