COVID-19 transmission in Muntinlupa is slowing down based on “doubling time” data of confirmed cases over the past days according to the local City Health Office.

City Health Officer Dr. Tet Tuliao said the Covid-19 doubling time in Muntinlupa has further improved to seven days since May 13 indicating a “good sign” in the battle against the coronavirus.

“As of May 15, Muntinlupa City’s doubling time is at 7.81 days which indicates that we are now experiencing deceleration in transmission. If before the cases doubled within three days as per national data, now it takes longer,” Tuliao noted.

Doubling time refers to the number of days for local coronavirus cases to double in number. The standard rate of transmission should be at 7 to 30 days to be considered decelerating.

Muntinlupa City Health Office recorded doubling time transmission rate in Muntinlupa at 7.63 days on May 13 and at 7.70 days on May 14.

The local health officer added that while the city recorded development in Covid-19 situation, the local government will continue to intensify its initiatives to curb the spread of the virus in the communities.

Muntinlupa City has an ongoing “express mass testing” for city residents who are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms.

Residents to be tested are transported through Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT) and DRRMO. While, walk-in individuals are assessed by medical staff before being administered with the swab collection for as fast as 10 minutes.

CHO has started to test frontliners and health workers in barangay health centers. PCR Testing is for free and is available from Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Muntinlupa City Health Office, Laguerta, Tunasan.

Confirmed patients are immediately referred to quarantine facilities while close contacts and their families are subject for isolation to help contain the spread of the virus in the communities.
