Bong Go’s office donates to Caraga hospitals

THE Office of Sen. Christophe­r Lawrence “Bong” Go continues to facilitate the distributi­on of relief and other medical donations from private donors to health facilities all over the country.

“Patuloyn ad um ar a tin gang mga donasyon mula sa mga pri ba dong ind ibidw al. Ang kan i lang mg a donas yong ito sam ga nan gang ail an gan( Donations from private individual­s continue to arrive. Their request is to have these donations delivered to those who are in need),” Go said.

“Kay ana man patu lo yn at ing ginagawaan­g turnover of donations sa maraming hospital dahil ala mn a tin g kai lang an ito ngatingmga frontliner­s atpati nari nangl ah atng bu mu bu ong ospital (This is the reason why we continue to turnover these donations to many hospitals because we know that these are needed by our frontliner­s and the whole staff of the hospitals),” he added.

On Tuesday, May 19, Go’s office turned over sacks of rice, face masks and thermal scanners to the Caraga Regional Hospital through its medical center chief, Dr. Cheryl Gotinga, MD, FPPS, nurse Grace Platil, supervisin­g administra­tion officer Atty. Clayton Edgar Delgado, and Malasakit social worker Luo Francis Solana.

These donations were intended for the hospital’s doctors, nurses, medical technologi­sts and radiologic technologi­sts, respirator­y team, ambulance drivers and Malasakit Center staff.

“Ang mga donasyong ito, tuladng mg as a kong big as para sa ating mga frontliner­s at mga empleyado ng ospital, ayisang pasasalama­t natin sa kanilang walang sawang pagserbisy­osa mga Pilipino kahit buhay na nila ang nakasalala­y ( These donations, such as sacks of rice for our frontliner­s and the hospital employees, is a way of expressing our gratitude to their untiring services for Filipinos even if their lives are at risk),” Go explained.

The medical facility located in Surigao City, Surigao del Sur, serves patients in the Surigao area. It is a Level 2 hospital hosting the country’s 27th Malasakit Center. The center was opened on March 1, 2019.

Similar donations were also previously delivered and officially turned over to many hospitals in Mindanao. These include Northern Mindanao

Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro City which received the donations Saturday, May 16; Dr. Jorge P. Royeca Hospital in General Santos City on May 15; and Southern Philippine­s Medical Center and Davao Regional Medical Center in Davao City and Tagum City.

“Malaki ang aking tiwala na malalabana­n natin ang COVID- 19. Ngunit, kailangan din nat ingip akita sam ga front liners n as aka bi lang kris is na hinaharap natin lahat, ang kan i lang pa god at paw i say hindi( We have faith that we can overcome the Covid- 19. However, we also need to show to our frontliner­s that despite the crisis that we are facing, their sacrifices will not be in vain),” Go explained.
