DSWD validates list of beneficiaries

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has appealed to local government units (LGUs) to speed up the encoding and transmittal of their liquidation reports so that the department can roll out the second tranche of the government’s cash subsidy program.

DSWD spokesman Irene Dumlao said the submission of the list of beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) was ongoing.

“We have to complete the validation process. Deduplication will require submission of all encoded list of beneficiaries which will be cross matched to lists of LTRFB (Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board), DoLE (Department of Labor and Employment), DA (Department of Agriculture) and SBWS ( Small Business Wage Subsidy),” Dumlao told TheManilaTimes.

She said the process was important to see if there had been cases of duplication.

“Eligibility checking is being done by the Field Offices (FOs) for the lists initially submitted,” she said.

The DSWD said the validation and vetting by the FOs could only be done when the data per LGU have been submitted in its entirety.

This would take Q5 days because validation on the city, municipality, provincial and regional levels take place at the FO levels.

“The DSWD is exhausting all means to shorten the vetting and validation process, however, we need the full cooperation of the LGUs in order to effect this,” the agency said.

On Monday, Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. said the government might start distributing the second tranche of the cash subsidy. Under SAP, each household would receive between P5,000 and P8,000, depending on the specific region’s minimum wage rate.
