Standard Chartered Bank donates more PPE to NCR hospitals

THROUGH its global Covid-19 fund aid, the Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) has donated more than 6,600 protective personal equipment (PPE) sets, which include reusable coveralls, shoe covers and face shields to 20 hospitals and treatment centers in the National Capital Region to help augment the limited medical supplies in the country.

The endeavor is in partnershi­p with nongovernm­ent organizati­on(NGO) Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and fundraisin­g platform Bayanihan Musikahan.

SCB Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing Mai Sangalang, together with bank volunteers, delivered more than 1,000 PPE sets to Medical Center Muntinlupa (MCM), San Lorenzo Ruiz Women’s Hospital (SLRMC) in Malabon and Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center (ARMMC) in

Marikina. These were received by MCM Nursing Director Renie Malvas, SLRMC Medical Center Chief Dr. Marilou Nery and ARMMC Administra­tive Officer Nelson Sobredo.

“Our healthcare workers and first responders bear the brunt of the coronaviru­s and they rely on PPE to protect themselves. We are very happy to be able to help keep our frontline heroes safe. Despite the strong winds of Typhoon Ambo, it was a commitment to deliver the much-needed PPE. Solidarity will beat Covid-19!” Sangalang said.

“Standard Chartered has long been a partner of PBSP in projects that reach out to more underserve­d areas nationwide. Now that the Covid-19 pandemic is hitting us, we need to be more united as a community to help the most vulnerable in the country,” PBSP executive director Reynaldo Antonio Laguda Other expressed. beneficiar­y hospitals are RITM Muntinlupa, San Lazaro Hospital, UPPGH, Delos Santos Medical Center, Victor R. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital, Las Piñas General Hospital and Quirino Medical Center.
