Consultancy firm launches mobile market for Eastern Visayas

-

A mobile market — the first and only of its kind in Eastern Visayas — was launched in Northern Samar on the occasion of Farmers and Fisherfolk Month.

“As our response to the Covid-19 pandemic and in support of the Plant, Plant, Plant project of the Department of Agriculture, we recognize the contribution of the local farmers of this povertystricken province. Agriculture as the backbone of our economy should be given importance and it’s about time that we should go back to the basics,” Stratoppo Global Chief Executive Officer MaryJane Salomon said.

The soft launch and presscon held at Casa San Miguel, Catarman, Northern Samar was attended by representatives from the Department of Agriculture Engr. Jennifer Surio and Dr. Bernard Banga. The farmers contingent was led by Nelson Barasan, Clarissa Evangelista and Florianne Rubenicia.

“Initially, we roll this out in Catarman, the capital town with 55 barangays and eventually in all the 24 towns of the province with our 4Fs strategy, which is ‘From the Farmer to the Family, the Food will be delivered Fresh for free,’” Salomon added.

Stratoppo Global, a business consultancy firm with registered offices in Makati, Hong Kong and Catarman, is responsible for taking the initiative of forging partnership with the Department of Agriculture and the local farmers with the end view of creating a vibrant, resilient and robust local economy amid the global pandemic. The mobile market is a virtual marketplace that serves as ready buying station of vegetables, fruits and root crops direct from the farm of accredited farmers to be delivered to the kitchen of the customer. Facebook serves as the main platform, in addition to mobile text and call in processing orders.
