Grab expands grocery delivery service to NCR cities

-

GRAB has expanded its on- demand grocery delivery service to 17 cities in Metro Manila.

In a statement on Friday, the company known for its ride-hailing services said its GrabMart service had widened its reach to cover all cities in the country’s capital.

It added that it also boosted its network to now more than 150 outlets after sealing partnerships with supermarkets, convenience stores and specialty stores in the National Capital Region.

Currently, Grab users can purchase over-the- counter medicines, home essentials, health and beauty items, fresh produce and meat products, and home internet solutions.

“The Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic has forced companies to be agile and to act quickly to support the needs of their fellowmen. By tapping on existing technologies, our extensive delivery network and operational footprint, we were able to quickly scale GrabMart in Metro Manila to help more Filipinos purchase their essential needs,” said EJ dela Vega, head of GrabMart and GrabFood in the Philippines.

“This is just the beginning as we will continue to double down on our expansion efforts to serve more Filipinos,” he added.

The statement comes after Grab introduced in April its grocery delivery service amid the lockdown imposed by the government to curb the spread of the highly contagious respiratory disease in the country.

Aside from the Philippines, the service is also available in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and Cambodia.
