DAVAO VILLAGE DECLARES CPP- NPA-NDFP ‘PERSONA NON GRATA’ NEW COVID- 19 PATIENT CONFIRMED IN NVIZCAYA

ASUNCION, DAVAO DEL NORTE: Some 150 residents of Barangay Igangon, San Isidro town staged a “peace rally” on June 14 to formally and publicly withdraw any associatio­n and support for the Communist Party of the Philippine­s-National Peoples Army-National Democratic Front of the Philippine­s (CPP-NPA-NDFP) and all its legal front organizati­ons. Their place of residence, Barangay Igangon of the said town, also formally declared the organizati­on as persona non grata in their locality, despite having immediate family members as active NPA members. The attendees were all former members of undergroun­d mass organizati­ons put up by the local guerilla unit of the CPP-NPA in the area — many utilized as couriers, spies and even saboteurs of government projects and initiative­s — who voluntaril­y submitted themselves to the Community Support Team of the 60th Infantry Battalion deployed in San Isidro.

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: After over a month of no positive coronaviru­s disease 2019 ( Covid- 19) cases in the province, an overseas Filipino worker ( OFW) was confirmed positive. Dr. Edwin Galapon, Nueva Vizcaya provincial health chief, confirmed the new positive case of Covid- 19 was a 34- year- old male OFW from Poblacion in Diadi town. He said the patient had direct contact with another OFW from Lagawe town in the neighborin­g province of Ifugao, who also tested positive. Galapon bared that the new Nueva Vizcaya Covid- 19 case arrived in Manila from Jubail, Saudi Arabia on May 20 and reached the province on June 7. The patient is now confined at the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center here while contact tracing is being conducted.
