76 LSIs return to Misamis Occidental

-

SOME 76 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) in Metro Manila and other parts of the country were able to return to Misamis Occidental with the assistance of First District Rep. Diego Ty.

Ty initiated the “Balik 1st District Program” to facilitate the return of local residents stranded in different areas of the country amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

As of June 17, Ty’s office received 250 inquires and helped return five LSIs to Aloran, 12 to Baliangao, three to Calamba, six to Jimenez, five to Lopez Jaena, 18 to Oroquieta City, 21 to Plaridel and two to Sapang Dalaga.

It also facilitated the return of four people from outside District 1 to Misamis Occidental.

“We call on our fellow Misamisnon who are currently stranded in Metro Manila to contact my office so we can help them return to the first district,” Ty said.

Ty said those interested to avail of the program may text or call 0917-708-4164 for proper coordination.

“We want to make sure that those we help return home are Covid-19-free so we don’t spread the virus in Misamis Occidental. All necessary health clearances must be complied with as only those with approved travel authority will be accommodated” said Ty.

Meanwhile, a relative of an LSI thanked Ty for his effort to bring his province-mates back to Misamis Occidental.

“Thank you very much for fetching my nephew from Laguna. We wanted him home as he feels depressed already,” the relative told the congressman through a text message.
