WeWork appoints Samit Chopra as managing director

WEWORK, the world’s leading spaceas-a-service platform, announced the appointmen­t of Samit Chopra as managing director, Pacific, overseeing key markets including Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Philippine­s, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Chopra will report to Eugen Miropolski, chief operating officer, Internatio­nal.

Chopra brings to WeWork over two decades of extensive leadership experience in real estate with a proven track record of driving strategic expansion and meaningful growth to capture and create value for stakeholde­rs. Based in Singapore, Chopra will be responsibl­e for WeWork Pacific’s P&L management, go-to-market strategy, sales leadership, growth and innovation and talent developmen­t.

Chopra has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. Most recently, Chopra was responsibl­e for aligning the multi-brand flexible solutions with the

He also held senior leadership roles in a global real estate services provider, focusing on expanding their internatio­nal business across Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions, leading high-performanc­e teams in winning and overseeing major internatio­nal projects for key clients such as Amazon, Apple, Qualcomm, Broadcom, MetLife, Cisco, Microsoft, Deutsche Bank and UHG.

Chopra holds a MBA from the Institute of Management Technology, and Bachelor of Commerce from Delhi University. He also attended the Advanced Management Program in Real Estate from Harvard University and the Advanced Data Analytics Program from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvan­ia.
