BONG GO, DONORS HELP CDO HOSPITAL

-

MEDICAL equipment and other medical supplies were turned over to the JR Borja General Hospital ( JRBGH) in Cagayan de Oro City, thanks to Sen. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go and his office.

Go facilitated the turnover of an ultrasound machine donated by Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc., as well as various donations from the private sector, including 2,000 face masks and 10 thermal scanners to further equip JRBGH in its fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid- 19) pandemic.

“Today, we give you these donations with the confidence that this will help you in diagnosing and treating your patients, no matter what their condition is,” the senator said in a statement delivered by a representative during the turnover ceremony on June 25.

Go’s staff also distributed 200 food packs to frontliners and staff of JRBGH and the Malasakit Center staff.

“In the middle of this global health crisis, we owe our immense gratitude to you, dear health professionals, for tending to the sick, risking your lives in the process,” Go said.

“Hindibiroanginyongtrabaho.Sakabila ngmgapanganibnginyongpropesyon, patuloy mgakapwaPilipino.Saludokaminglahatsa inyo (Your task and duty in the medical profession is not an easy one. You put your lives

at risk in order to help your fellow Filipinos. For that, we are grateful and we salute your bravery and commitment),” he added.

He thanked the private donors for extending help to hospitals that need help the most.

“NagpapasalamatpoakosaPilipinas ShellFoundationInc.sakanilangdonasyon atsapagpatuloyngkanilangbayanihanat

pakikipagtulungansaatingkapwaPilipino (I thank the Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc. for their donation and continuous help to our fellow Filipinos),” Go said.

Dr. Ramon Nery, acting chief of the hospital, said Go had always helped JRBGH in its endeavor to provide better healthcare services to constituents.

He mentioned that through the Malasakit Center, which opened in JRBGH on Oct. 9, 2019, over 4,500 patients had been given support through the one-stop shop where medical and financial assistance from concerned government agencies could be availed of.

The JRBGH has been helping decongest Northern Mindanao Medical Center, allowing the latter to focus on treating Covid-19 patients as the main referral hospital in the city.

The hospital set up two fully air- conditioned tents to make it easier for health workers to examine patients and assess cases, adding a layer of protection by preventing further exposure of frontliners and patients to the deadly virus.
