Muntinlupa receives 40-bed quarantine facility; puts Barangay Putatan under ELCQ

A40-bed quarantine facility in Barangay Sucat, Muntinlupa was turned-over to the local government recently to augment its efforts in curbing Covid-19.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi graced the ceremony and thanked Reckitt Benckiser Philippine­s Inc. for funding the constructi­on of the facility and partnering with the city in the fight against Covid-19.

Members of the Philippine Navy (PN), Armed Forces of the Philippine­s (AFP), and Philippine Army (PA) have also helped in constructi­ng the fully airconditi­oned facility with toilet and bath and separate nurse station.

Meanwhile, the Muntinlupa City government placed a community in Barangay Putatan under lockdown due to a spike in Covid-19 cases.

Mayor Fresnedi approved Executive Order 22 s. 2020, placing a 15- day enhanced localized community quarantine (ELCQ) in Block 35 Excess Lot, Soldiers’ Hills Village, Barangay Putatan since 12 p.m. of June 23 until 11:59 p.m. of July 7. Three roads leading to the community have been closed.

As of June 21, the City Health Office ( CHO) has recorded 10 Covid-19 cases in the area with eight active cases and two recoveries while eight probable causes
