On Wednesday, the erstwhile “Queen of All Media” posted clips of her contract signing with management and production group Cornerstone Entertainment looking both healthy and happy. Donning a new hairstyle, she sat in the middle of a long table with Cornerstone Entertainment Inc. President Erickson Raymundo and Vice President Jeffrey Vadillo to observe physical distancing.
Citing her contract’s confidentiality agreement, the 49-year-old actress-host was unable to give details on what projects the group has lined up for her.
Aquino wrote, “I was reminded by attorney @ gideon. pena that the contract I signed had S paragraphs regarding confidentiality. So for now it’s just this video.”
Clearly excited about her comeback, she added, “I am allowed to thank my @ cornerstone family for their patience and perseverance; thank you to new partners for their vote of confidence.” Aquino also expressed gratitude to everyone who congratulated her in the comments section on her new career milestone.
“Thank you to my family and all of you, my loyal followers for helping me pray for this moment to finally arrive,” she ended.
It was only last week when veteran talent manager and entertainment columnist Lolit Solis said on Instagram she heard that Aquino is set to do a talk show with boxing champion and Senator Manny Pacquiao. However, Aquino was quick to deny this, writing in the comments, “Sorry
Nay, Bernard [Cloma, Pacquiao’s friend] is confusing you. A couple of years ago,
kaminimareng @jinkeepacquiao ang nagkausap for a possible project together. It never materialized.”
She continued, “There’s nothing in the horizon for me and Senator Manny. Willie Revillame generously offered me to use one of the other studios he set up in Wil Tower for me to do Facebook and YouTube daily. There’s more but I signed a non-disclosure agreement and masunurin na your Tetay now.”
It has been two years since Aquino took a break from show business due to health reasons. She, however, landed a cameo in Hollywood film “Crazy Rich Asians”
in August 2018 as Princess Intan. That same year, she revealed she had been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria.
Even on hiatus, however, the controversial celebrity was always able to draw public attention whether from posts about her illness or her love-hate relationship with her brother, former president Noynoy Aquino.
She also figured in a pubic scandal with erstwhile business manager Nicko Falcis. Aquino accused and later sued Falcis for qualified theft in allegedly using company funds for personal expenses. Falcis meanwhile released his telephone conversation with Aquino where she allegedly threatened his life. The case has been settled since.
