RCBC LAUNCHES DISKARTECH APP

LISTED Rizal Commercial Banking Corp. (RCBC) seeks to promote financial inclusion with the launch of its virtual banking platform DiskarTech. The app aims to provide sachet banking services to many unbanked and underserve­d Filipinos, especially those living in grassroots communitie­s. It offers basic services including deposits, lending, and insurance. According to Lito Villanueva, RCBC executive vice president and chief innovation and inclusion officer, DiskarTech users can easily create their own basic deposit accounts through one-time registrati­on via an electronic know-your- customer (eKYC) digital process. He said opening a DiskarTech digital savings account does not require an initial amount or maintainin­g balance, and there are no charges for dormant accounts. RCBC offers a competitiv­e interest rate of 3.25 percent to encourage app users so save money. Diskartech also has a digital savings feature, which also allows users to set their life goals through #buhayginha­wa to be able to save money for future use. RCBC shares closed flat at P16.96 each on Wednesday.
