Baliuag receives Project ARK rapid test kits

- ARLIE O. CALALO

A KNOWN supplier of home improvement and construction materials donated rapid test kits from Go Negosyo’s Project ARK (anti-body rapid test kits) to the municipality of Baliuag, Bulacan.

Representatives from Wilcon Depot, led by Aiza Dacir and Rowell Suarez, turned over the test kits to the town’s chief of staff, Lhan Cruz, and which was witnessed by Go Negosyo’s Aeron Morado and Sophia Ramos.

Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo founder Jose Maria “Joey” Concepcion 3rd said Project ARK generated more than 1 million kits that were procured with the support of over 100 companies.

Baliuag Mayor Ferdie Estrella was reported to have tried one of Project Ark’s rapid test kits. He was one of the first local officials to have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) but has since recovered.

Estrella used the Innovita brand test kit, which showed that he was IgG positive. This means that the mayor had a past infection and has recovered.

IgG, or immunoglobulinG, are antibodies that develop in most patients within seven to 10 days after symptoms of Covid-19 begin and would remain in the blood after the infection has passed. These antibodies indicate that one may have had Covid-19 recently but has developed antibodies that would protect him from future infection.

The company was convinced on the accuracy of the Innovita rapid test kits that it donated them to the municipality for its use in its expanded targeted testing for Covid-19.
