The city government immediately delivered relief packs to affected families, which was formerly the location of Zapote 1 old public market, where close to 500 families now reside. The City Environment and Natural Resources Office is also continuously conducting disinfection in the area.

Areas included in the localized lockdown include Pasilyo Aster, Adelfa, Doña Aurora, Santan, Rosal, Rosas, Santan Extension, Everlasting, Everlasting Extension, Jasmin, Barangay Hall Proper,Dama De Noche, Cadena de Amor, Campupot, Sampaguita, Camia, Camia Extension, Calachuchi, Ilang-ilang and Gumamela.

Meanwhile in Bacolod City, a first local transmission has been recorded, Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson confirmed in a text message to TheManilaTimes on Saturday.

“Yes, we have patient 105, a frontliner. He works as an ambulance driver, who would drive for locally stranded individuals and overseas Filipino workers,” Lacson said.

“This is an unfortunate incident because he was just doing his job and got infected,” he added.

Lacson said contact tracing was now being conducted.

Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas ordered the lockdown of 120 houses in Purok New Site, Barangay Minoyan, where the driver resides.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said 15 members of the Emergency Response Unit of the Negros Occidental have been quarantined.

The five new positive cases on Friday bring to 109 the number of Covid- 19 positive cases in Negros Occidental, with no recorded deaths.
