46 PASAY VILLAGES VIRUS-FREE – MAYOR
A total of 46 barangay (villages) in Pasay City were free of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), the city government said on Thursday.
Based on the monitoring and documentation of the City Health Office and the Department of the Interior and Local Government Pasay Field Office, 46 of 201 villages had zero cases of Covid-19
Included in the 46 villages were the socalled “Lucky 13” barangay that did not report a single case of Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Thirty- three villages were declared Covid-19-free when all patients were reported to have recovered.
“This is indeed a great development and a major boost to the morale of our people especially of the LGU (local government unit) personnel, health workers, barangay officials and everyone who has done his or her part to achieve this,” Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said.
The Lucky 13 villages were Barangay 12, 25, 47, 74, 78, 103, 112, 114, 140, 141, 149, 150 and 151. Meanwhile, the villages declared free of the virus were Barangay 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 16, 20, 21, 28, 33, 53, 56, 64, 70, 71, 73, 79, 83, 84, 87, 90, 93, 95, 101, 106, 142, 154, 157, 163, 166, 168, 180 and 195.
“The strict implementation of health and safety protocols, stringent contact tracing and monitoring by the City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit, and the cooperation and practice of discipline by the people themselves in following our guidelines resulted in this," Rubiano said.
As of Wednesday, the city had 2,173 confirmed Covid-19 cases.
