Lalamove books 200% surge in orders

- JORDEENE B. LAGARE

DELIVERY company Lalamove reported on Monday a surge of more than 200 percent in orders even with restrictions remain in place to contain the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

“During this time, we’ve seen a more than 200 percent growth in orders, providing our partner drivers a vital source of income during these difficult times due to Covid-19. And our commitment to our partner drivers remains stronger than ever,” said Lalamove in a statement without providing additional information.

“Since the ECQ (enhanced community quarantine) in March 2020, we’ve managed to help over a hundred thousand drivers to earn additional income by taking orders with Lalamove,” it added.

Lalamove said their affordable delivery prices created more demand from at least hundreds of thousands of businesses.

As a result, their lower rates have provided more opportunities for Lalamove’s partner drivers to earn more than what they did compared to pre-Covid-19 quarantine and much more than the country’s minimum wage, through their oindustry-standard commission rates.

Lalamove reiterated its commitment to being a responsible app-based logistics partner for its partner drivers and users, including many small and familyowned businesses.

“During these times of economic uncertainty, it’s important that we offer our small businesses with affordable logistics solutions. These businesses depend on reliable partners such as Lalamove to maintain operations and reach their customers in a cost-effective way,” said Lalamove.
