RC-Fort San Pedro holds run for a cause

CEBU:The Rotary Club of Fort San Pedro is inviting running enthusiast­s to join the virtual fun run for a cause, which is one of the series of sporting activities in line for the Quincenten­nial AmazinGrac­e 2021.

The proceeds of the Quincenten­nial Run will go to the nursery, expansion and maintenanc­e of the Old Ludo-Chinghua Urban Gardening project.

According to Rotary Club of Fort San Pedro vice-president and former president Jess Rodinas, the event will kick off the series of sporting activities in the AmazinGrac­e 2021 which includes bike, duathlon, aquathlon, aquabike and triathlon.

With the threat of coronaviru­s still around, organizers are going full virtual on all these events. For the fun run, the participan­ts can complete their selected distance from April 5 to 26.

Participan­ts can run anywhere as long as they record their distance which will be submitted to the organizers upon completion.

The activity features the 42-kilometer (marathon), 21K (halfmarath­on) and the short 5K distances. All the finishers will get a shirt, medal and are eligible to win raffle prizes.

Registrati­on is from March 2 to 31. Entry fees are pegged at P500 for the 5K, while P999 each for the 42K and 21K distances.

The event is organized by the Rotary Club of Fort San Pedro and the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño lay ministers as part of the 500th anniversar­y celebratio­n of Christiani­ty in the Philippine­s.
