Bong Go appeals for continued‘bayanihan’

SEN. Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go called for continued bayanihan (communal spirit) efforts amid the pandemic as his office distributed aid to indigent communities in Metro Manila.

Go’s office joined the Department of Social Welfare and Development to give away face masks, face shields and vitamins to 200 beneficiaries in Batasan, Quezon City last week.

“Our cooperation and observance of regulations will save the lives of our fellow Filipinos,” the senator said in a statement.

The chairman of the Senate Committee on Health gave assurances the poor and vulnerable sectors will be given vaccination priority.

“Don’t worry, the vaccines continue to arrive. We’re just prioritizing the frontliners. Then, it will be the senior citizens, then the indigents down the line,” Go said, adding that getting vaccinated is crucial to ending the pandemic.

“Don’t be afraid of the vaccine — be afraid of Covid-19. The vaccine is our only solution to overcome this crisis. The vaccine is the key for us to return to our normal lives,” he added.

Go said anyone in need of medical attention may visit any of the 102 Malasakit Centers nationwide.

Malasakit Centers in Quezon City are located at the East Avenue Medical Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines and Novaliches District Hospital.
