Gambito bats for unity in Nueva Vizcaya

- BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya: LEANDER C. DOMINGO

Vice Governor-elect Jose “Jing” Gambito has ended his nine years of political hibernation and is making a comeback at the provincial board of Nueva Vizcaya.

Gambito said he will strive to make the provincial board more responsive and effective to the needs of the constituents.

“It will be a stress-free environment that I am aiming to pursue in my relationship with my colleagues in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) as well as Gov. Carlos Padilla,” Gambito said.

In 2013, Gambito completed his three-term reign as the provincial board’s presiding officer. He then focused on his law practice and businesses for the past nine years.

Now, he is back to continue serving the Novo Vizcayanos.

“For a province to progress smoothly, there should not be any bickering among the members o Sangguniang Panlalawigan, as well as between the provincial executive and the legislative departments,” Gambito said.

He said he will promote unity among the members of the provincial board and support the development thrusts of the provincial government led by the newly reelected governor of the province.

Gambito also expressed optimism that with professional unity and teamwork among local officials in the province as his advocacy, more will be achieved for the progress of the province.

“With the support of my colleagues in the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, I am optimistic that with this advocacy, we will bring in the needed legislative support for the priority programs, projects, development initiatives and basic services of the provincial government,” he said.

Gambito said he will do his job as vice governor and lead the provincial board setting aside political differences.

“I will work as the elected vice governor and presiding officer of the SP without necessarily affecting political affiliation,” he said.

“But if it is necessary, I will sever political affiliation in order to fully support various development initiatives of the provincial government.”
