BARANGAY GINEBRA’S CSTAND ON TRACK TO WIN BPC PLUM

BARANGAY Ginebra’s hardMbangM ing big man Christian StandM hardinger seized the lead in the race for the PBA Season 48 ComM missioner’s Cup Best Player of the Conference (BPC) behind a strong showing toward the tail end of the eliminatio­n round.

The Filipino German overtook San Miguel Beer’s (SMB) star center June Mar Fajardo from the statistica­l race after posting an average of 38.0 statistica­l points (SPs). Standhardi­nger was lurking behind Fajardo, the PBA’s only seven-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) during the first half of the eliminatio­n round.

Standhardi­nger has been one of Ginebra’s reliable workhorses as eviM denced by his perMgame averages of 17.3 points, 9.V rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.2 steals in the eliminatio­n.

The Gin Kings went on to post an 8M3 record en route to grabM bing the No. 3 seed heading to the quarterfin­als.

The 6-foot-10 Fajardo recently fractured his left wrist, which kept the SMB star out of action for six weeks. The injury left the Cebuano big man out of the running in the latest statistica­l race.

Meralco’s Chris Newsome is at ninth spot with 28.4 SPs, while at No. 10 is Jason Perkins of Phoenix with 27.33 SPs.

In the battle for the Best Import Award, Rahlir HollisMjef­ferson, who came in to replace his brother Rondae of TNT, is at No. 1 with V7.5 SPs deM spite seeing action for just two games.

The doMitMall American leads all imports in scoring with 42.5 points, to go along with 12.5 reM bounds, 7.5 assists and 2.5 steals.

San Miguel’s Bennie Boatwright, another newcomer after taking the spot of Ivan Aska, is hanging at HollisMjef­ferson’s coattails at secM ond place with V7.3 SPs behind his perMgame averages of 40.3 points and 13.3 rebounds.

Shonn Miller (27.0 points and 17.3 rebounds) of Meralco is at third place with 55.0 SPs, followed by jonathan Williams (27.0 points, 15. V rebounds and 5.5 assists) of PhoeM nix with 53.6 SPs.
