PH a worker ‘breeding ground’

OUTSOURCING firm Doxa Talent said that oral communication skills, a culture of excellence, and high work ethics have made the country a “breeding ground” for offshore employees.

Doxa CEO David Nilssen said Filipinos remained open to employment opportunities, making them ideal candidates as offshore talents, or employees who are outsourced to perform jobs in foreign countries.

“As global leaders, driving offshore talent means having a borderless mindset — one that allows us to think and learn to grow in a dynamically changing world,” Nilssen said on Wednesday in a media briefing in Makati.

“We see this as an opportunity to transform the way we work, lead our partners to success, and help both employees and businesses compete in the global world,” he added.

Doxa currently has more than 700 Filipino employees and aims to double the business this year by onboarding more locals, Nilssen said.

“We are not investing heavily in marketing. We rely heavily on customer referrals from our clients. It’s about creating jobs. If we treat people well and create more jobs, the economic benefits will come,” he said.

The Doxa executive described the company as a “game changer” for Filipinos as it allows them to work remotely in any province while earning a “Manila salary.”

He stressed that the firm’s business model has “significantly” contributed to domestic economic growth, in line with the fast-paced expansion of the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector.

“Companies must gear up as we are seeing a demographic shift in the workforce with more offshore talents helping businesses thrive, which is also providing a tailwind to the BPO industry,” said Nilssen.
