P3M worth of shabu seized in Iloilo City
ILOILO CITY: The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) apprehended six drug personalities and confiscated around P3 million worth of shabu in two separate drug operations over the weekend.
Two individuals, identified only as John and Mike, were arrested in a buybust in Barangay Arguelles, Jaro, Iloilo City at 3:50 p.m. on Friday, January 19.
Alias John is a 34-year-old married male and a resident of Barangay Arguelles, while Alias Mike is a 37-yearold male and a call center agent residing in Barangay Balabago.
The apprehension transpired when the suspects conspired to sell a heatsealed plastic transparent sachet containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu to an undercover police officer posing as a buyer.
The seized items include 280 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1.904 million, a caliber .45 pistol with two magazines, 14 ammunition, and a holster, among other nondrug items.
Meanwhile, four more individuals were apprehended in another illegal drug operation in the City Proper district.
Two of the drug personalities were identified as street-level individuals, while the remaining two were categorized as high-value individuals.
The anti-illegal drug operation took place at Zone 3, Barangay Tanza Esperanza, City Proper, at around 1:10 p.m. on Saturday, January 20.
Police authorities were able to confiscate 170 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1.156 million from the scene.
All arrested suspects are currently held in the custody of ICPO and will face criminal charges for the violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
Alias John and Mike, on the other hand, will be facing additional cases in violation of RA 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.”
