Subaru unveils head-turning models at Singapore Auto Show
THE Singapore Motorshow, which was held last week at the Suntec Singapore Convention, showcased four striking new models from Motor Image’s Subaru lineup.
Glen Tan, deputy chairman of Tan Chong Industries Ltd. and head of its automotive division Motor Image, introduced the new Subaru Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid GT Edition, Subaru WRX Sedan GT Edition, Subaru WRX Wagon GT Edition, and Subaru BRZ STI at the prestigious car show.
“We’ve taken Subaru’s distinctive style to the next level with our showcase of vehicles at the 2024 Singapore Motorshow. The aesthetics of the Crosstrek GT Edition, WRX Sedan GT Edition, and WRX Wagon GT Editions, along with the eye-catching BRZ STI, are sure to turn heads. Beyond the dynamic performance our owners have come to love, these models offer an elevated and exciting styling inside and out,” Tan said.
Starting with the Subaru Crosstrek eBoxer Hybrid, the 2024 model now comes in the GT Edition, featuring enhanced looks and style with the limited GT Edition trim for the e-Boxer 2.0i-S EyeSight Hybrid model.
The GT styling kit elevates the e-Boxer Hybrid’s appearance, combining pulsepounding performance with a fantastic look. Exterior enhancements include aggressive front, rear, and side under spoilers, revised 18-inch alloy wheels, and a new roof spoiler that enhances aesthetics and aerodynamics.
Inside, the two-tone grey leather cabin showcases GT Edition seats with sporty red accents, contrast white stitching, and perforations, providing a dynamic and exclusive driving experience. The seats are embossed with the GT Edition logos, adding to the overall exclusivity.
Subaru designer Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi, in collaboration with engineering firm Giken Co. Ltd., led the development of the Crosstrek GT Edition. Kobayashi’s extensive portfolio includes over 12 iconic Subaru production vehicles globally, including the legendary WRX STI and developments of the GT Edition designs for the Motor Image Group.
Motor Image also unveiled prototypes of the GT Editions for the Subaru WRX Sedan and Subaru WRX Wagon at the Singapore Motorshow. Both models emphasize the athletic essence of the WRX, with Kobayashi leading their development.
In addition to the GT Editions, the BRZ STI captured the attention of Subaru enthusiasts during the show. The larger Forester E-Boxer Hybrid and Forester GT Edition were also unveiled alongside the WRX Sedan and Wagon.
These exciting models will be showcased at the upcoming Manila International Auto Show in Pasay City in April.
