Harvey Bautista, Criza topbill new youth series ‘Zoomers’

THE cast of ABS-CBN Studios’ upcoming youth-reality series “Zoomers” was unveiled at a media conference on Monday with former “Goin Bulilit” star Harvey Bautista and ex-”PBB” housemate Criza securing the lead roles after impressing three distinguis­hed directors during a rigorous audition process.

Bautista and Criza were selected among 18 Gen Z artists by ABS-CBN Star Magic and TV production head Laurenti Dyogi, blockbuste­r film director Theodore Boborol, and “He’s Into Her” director Chad Vidanes. Joining them are former “YeY ‘’ star Luke Alford, commercial model Ralph de Leon, and dancer Krystl Ball, who also showed potential and charm to be part of the latest ABSCBN Studios offering. The newest Kapamilya series revolves around the lives of senior high students Jiggs (Bautista), Hope (Criza), Kokoy (Alford), Tania (Ball), and

Atom (De Leon), who have forged a special bond of friendship during the pandemic. As they find their footing in this post-pandemic reality, witness how their friendship will be tested as they will be challenged by their own pains, struggles, and dreams. Former child star Bautista shared the importance of the series to him.

“This is a big deal for me. It’s my first project with a partner. There’s a bit of nervousnes­s and excitement. It’s something I’ve been waiting for, and I’m grateful for it. I want to make them proud. I want to make the bosses proud,” he said.

Criza, who was part of the hit series “Kadenang Ginto” and “He’s Into Her,” expressed her honor in playing one of the main characters in the series. “This is my first lead role under Star Magic and ABSCBN’s supervisio­n. It stuck with me that I’m so grateful and thankful that they trusted me with this role. The number one thing I can promise is to give my 199% to my character. I will bring Hope to life,” she said. Likewise, Alford, De Leon, and Ball expressed their gratefulne­ss for the opportunit­y to be part of a series tackling relevant social issues faced by their generation. “Zoomers” is directed by Chad Vidanes and is written by Charisse Bayona and Michael Transfigur­acion. Also part of “Zoomers” are Luis Vera Perez, Kei Kurosawa, Erika Davis, Hadiyah Santos, and Zabel Lamberth.
