China college visits CLSU for agricultural partnership
DELEGATES from a comprehensive higher vocational college in China visited Central Luzon State University (CLSU) in Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, to explore possible partnerships in the university’s agriculture program.
The Hunan, Chinabased Changde Vocational and Technical College (CVTC) delegates were welcomed by CLSU President Evaristo Abella, who thanked them for their interest in the proposed collaboration as agriculture remains the university’s flagship program.
Abella also emphasized that the partnership between CVTC and CLSU “will strengthen the university’s initiatives in student mobility, particularly in the student and faculty exchange program.”
“This will ultimately boost the contribution of CLSU toward the achievement of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals,” he added.
The CVTC delegates included Tan Cheng, CVTC Committee member and president of International Education College; Chen Gang, director of the Academic Affairs Office; Gu Zhenhua, director of the Department of Agriculture and Economics; Xiong Yirong, deputy president of International Education College; and Dr. Yang Jing, instructor of Department of Agriculture and Economics, among others.
Facilitating the meeting on Jan. 18, 2024, CLSU International Affairs Office (IAO) head Parsons Hail explained the processes and activities necessary to establish the collaboration. He said a series of meetings would be conducted by CLSU and CVTC in this regard.
Joining the meeting were CLSU officials Dr. Ravelina Velasco, vice president for Academic Affairs; Dr. Ariel Mactal, VP for Administration; Dr. Edgar Orden, VP for Research and Extension;
