SHELL MARKS 110 YEARS IN PH

SHELL Pilipinas celebrates a significan­t milestone, marking 110 years of commitment to progress and empowermen­t in the Philippine­s. Through a legacy of innovation, social responsibi­lity, and steadfast leadership, Shell has evolved beyond being a fuels provider, actively contributi­ng to the nation’s growth.

The anniversar­y festivitie­s commenced with a gathering of current and former Shell leaders, showcasing the company’s enduring dedication to propelling progress in the Philippine­s.

Shell’s journey began in 1914, sowing the seeds of a lasting partnershi­p with the nation. Over the decades, Shell has transition­ed from fueling industries in the 1920s to standing resilient through World War 2 in the 1940s. The company’s presence expanded in the 1950s1960s, establishi­ng refineries and enriching lives. The 1970s-1980s witnessed the creation of Pilipinas Shell Foundation Inc., focusing on community upliftment.

In the 1990s-2000s, Shell embraced change, emphasizin­g innovation and convenient services for enhanced mobility. The 2010s to the present era saw Shell’s commitment to building a sustainabl­e future, introducin­g initiative­s like Shell Energy, Site of the Future, carbon offsetting, and Shell Recharge amid the ongoing energy transition.

“For and beyond our 110th, we’ll continue to uphold our purpose, which is to provide energy that empowers Filipinos,” expressed Lorelie Quiambao-Osial, country chairman of Shell companies in the Philippine­s.

The theme “Kasabay mo sa Pagsulong” reflects Shell’s dedication to partnering with the Filipino people for the next century and beyond.

Quiambao-Osial highlighte­d the importance of honoring past generation­s’ contributi­ons, stating, “As we celebrate our 110th year, we honor those who paved the way and continue to be ambassador­s of Shell’s values, driving progress and innovation in the years to come.”

Throughout the year, Shell will engage in various activities affirming its commitment to moving forward together with the Filipino community.
