MOTORCYCLE-HAILING service application Angkas is looking to enter the transport network vehicle (TNV) industry later this year.

During a town hall, Angkas chief George Royeca said that the Angcars service will have Economy and Plus options for its passengers.

“Angcars is designed to be an advanced ride-hailing app that seamlessly blends affordability with user-friendly navigation,” he said.

Angkas is not the first motorcycle-hailing application to launch a car service, as rival application JoyRide already has car and even taxi services.

Move It, on the other hand, is the motorcycle-hailing service of TNV service app Grab and operates on a separate app.

Angkas will also include service features such as Angkas Health and Padala for the motorcycle taxi app.

“Angkas Health brings health care services to Filipino homes through a straightforward fivestep process that includes home service blood testing by PRC (Philippine Red Cross)licensed medical professionals,” Angkas said in a statement on Wednesday.

“On the other hand, Angkas Padala is an intuitive app equipped with digital seller tools, payment and disbursement access, along with nationwide courier services that address the emerging needs of the Filipino ‘e-preneurs.”

In addition, Angkas bikers were introduced to a financial inclusion initiative called AngKash, which was revamped to serve a “larger portion” of their biker fleet.

“Through partnerships with automobile manufacturing giant Honda and Uno Bank, founded on the collective goal of nurturing a new generation of micro-entrepreneurs among Angkas bikers, the revamped AngKash aims to extend this initiative to a larger portion of the biker fleet. The program offers reduced interest rates to enhance financial flexibility and mobility,” Angkas said.
