The suspects were identified as alias Fred, 47, alias Jim, 50, and alias Cynthia, 20, who are all residents of Lumban, Laguna and listed as HVIs in Laguna Police Provincial Office’s drugs watchlist.

Evidence recovered from the suspects were six pieces of transparent sachets containing 550 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P3,740,000, and the money used by poseur buyer in the operation.

PRO-Calabarzon regional director BGen. Paul Kenneth Lucas lauded the accomplishments of the drug enforcement units of PRO-4A.

Lucas at same time directed the anti-drug units of the police regional office to conduct a thorough investigation to trace the source of illegal drugs in Lumban.

“I am grateful to our dedicated and hardworking PRO-4A drug operatives for making another milestone in our campaign against illegal drugs,” said Lucas.

“This remarkable feat deserves recognition. I already directed our anti-drug units to conduct an investigation to trace the source of this enormous quantity of drugs that proliferate not only in Lumban but also in the nearby municipalities,” added Lucas.

The buy-bust was carried out by joint drug operatives of the Laguna Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit/Provincial Intelligence, Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group/Special Operations Unit 4A, Regional Highway Patrol Unit 4A, and Lumban Municipal Police Station.

The suspects are now facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
