Lexus unveils Overtrail JAOS customized GX 550
LEXUS, in a collaboration project with JAOS Corp., unveiled the GX 550 Overtrail JAOS version at the 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon, showcasing a vehicle that embodies the adventurous spirit.
Under the concept of “The Premium OffRoader,” Lexus is expanding its model lineup to meet the diverse needs and lifestyles of customers. The GX 550 Overtrail promises exhilarating experiences across various terrains, from rugged offroad landscapes to bustling urban streets. Set to release in Japan by the yearend, this new model aligns with the vision of the Overtrail Project and contributes to the realization of a carbonneutral society.
The Overtrail revolves around delivering outdoor experiences that involve understanding, enjoyment and protection of nature. Crafted with a rugged bumper, lightweight yet highly rigid ABS resin is used, creating a durable exterior representative of heavyduty offroad vehicles. The vehicle is equipped with various offroad components, including fender garnishes, tubestyle side steps, large mudguards, and aluminum skid plates, enhancing both protection and functionality during offroad adventures.
The inclusion of a roof rack, a lift kit, and the use of lightweight yet highly rigid 18inch wheels elevate the GX 550 Overtrail from its authentic offroad appearance to dynamic performance, creating a style that sparks the adventurous spirit of Lexus customers.
