Sen. Imee leads AICS payout in Angeles City and Baliwag
SEN. Maria Imelda Josefa “Imee” Marcos led the distribution of cash assistance under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals In Crisis Situations (AICS) program to thousands of residents in Angeles City and Baliwag on Wednesday, February 7.
Marcos visited first Barangay Pampang in Angeles City where she and Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. attended the distribution of P3,000 each to 1,447 indigent Angeleños who are the second batch of beneficiaries from the DSWD.
Marcos and Lazatin also led the distribution of AICS assistance to the first batch of 1,063 Angeleños at The Infinity grounds in November 2022.
The Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center has also received P1 million worth of medical assistance intended for indigent patients through the initiative of Senator Marcos.
After the Angeles visit, the senator immediately proceeded to Baliwag City.Marcos was accompanied by Baliwag Mayor Ferdie Estrella and his mother Sonia Estrella and the rest of the Sangguniang Panglunsod council members and Association of Barangay Captains.
Among the beneficiaries were the displaced market vendors and force multipliers. The DSWD gave P3,000 each to 2,000 beneficiaries during AICS payout activity held at the Baliwag Star Arena.
Mayor Estrella and the Baliwag LGUs expressed their gratitude to Marcos and the DSWD for allotting cash assistance for their fellow Baliwagenyos.
The AICS program is a social safety net or a stop-gap mechanism to support the recovery of individuals and families from unexpected crises such as illness or death of a family member, and other crisis situations.
