FFCCCII’s economic, socio-civic advocacies in the past 70 years

FOR over 7 decades, the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) has been at the forefront of diverse economic advocacies and socio-civic projects, showcasing their unwavering commitment to national developmen­t.

Its key initiative­s cover advocating progressiv­e economic and social policies for sustainabl­e and inclusive Philippine economic growth, global competitiv­eness and developmen­t; fostering both domestic and foreign investment­s to fortify the Philippine economy; and championin­g the growth and enhancemen­t of Philippine tourism and “Operation: Barrio schools,”a significan­t endeavor, involving the constructi­on and donation of thousands of public school buildings in

rural barrios (neighborho­od), countrysid­e regions and remote islands nationwide every year.

Other key initiative­s include libreng gamutan (free treatment), conducting medical, dental and optical missions to support urban poor and rural communitie­s, and engaging in fast relief operations during natural and man-made calamities such as typhoons, earthquake­s and other crises.

Another key initiative is sponsoring FilipinoCh­inese volunteer fire brigades across the nation, a collective effort by idealistic entreprene­urs and profession­als, who volunteer as firemen during emergencie­s, helping victims regardless of ethnic or socioecono­mic background­s.

Lastly, the foundation also spearheads the Buy Pinoy campaign, advocating for investment­s in Philippine manufactur­ing industries and encouragin­g the public to prioritize Filipino-made products. The aim is to stimulate job creation and foster a resilient, self-reliant Philippine economy.

As of January 2021, a total of 5,986 school buildings, equivalent to 11,972 classrooms, have been successful­ly turned over to public schools in different parts of the country.
