LIFE FACT

Have faith in yourself, for without trying, you will never discover what could have been.

YOHANN Kae Panis-Luzano is a highly regarded pharmacist and dermatologist with an exceptional educational history, having graduated from the University of Santo Tomas and St. Luke’s College of Medicine.

In a brief talk with The Manila Times, Panis-Luzano stressed the importance of prioritizing our well-being since beauty and wellness have a good influence on our mental health and how we connect with others.

“Since life is transient, it is important to live beautifully in both words and actions. Beauty inside out,” Panis-Luzano said.

Youthplus Medical Group Inc. and Youthplus Skin and Laser Center are constantly at the forefront, bringing European brands that have established the gold standard in treating diverse skin disorders, thanks to her husband, Rex Luzano’s business expertise.

“I serve as the medical director and finance officer, overseeing expenses, while Rex serves as the CEO (chief executive officer) and president, overseeing the entire operations, including sales and marketing,” Panis-Luzano said.

Panis-Luzano’s parents generously supported her in 2012 when she opened her first clinic on Real Street in Tacloban City, and after a decade, Youthplus expanded to Ormoc and Northern Samar.

“Youthplus initial is YP, Yohann Panis. My father helped me think of this name, too,” she said.

Panis-Luzano developed her skills further by completing a rigorous dermatological residency at East Avenue Medical Center as well as a fellowship in cosmetic and laser surgery at Ramathibodi University Hospital in Bangkok.

Her dedication to quality is obvious in her never-ending quest for education, as she has attended numerous Botox, fillers, threads and laser trainings held by prestigious universities and industry experts across the globe.

Furthermore, as part of their recent expansion, Youthplus worked with surgeons, internal medicine specialists, orthopedic surgeons, ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialists, nephrologists, OB-GYN specialists, sonologists, pediatricians, adolescent specialists, pediatric cardiologists, pediatric hematologists/oncologists and rehabilitation medicine specialists.

Introducing pharmaceutical innovations

Panis-Luzano also spent time with The Manila Times, introducing one of her innovative goods.

Panis-Luzano Cosmeceuticals came into existence during the pandemic when she discovered herself digging into a wide range of periodicals and devoting her time to reading several studies, particularly those pertaining to skin components.

“My intention was to utilize this knowledge for the benefit of my patients in the clinic. Amid my exploration, I stumbled upon groundbreaking research on several remarkable ingredients, such as the patented beta-glucan, rosehips and Fibersol-2,” Panis-Luzano said.

“Finally, I felt compelled to develop Dr. Y Premium Glutathione, utilizing the remarkable properties of the patented Fibersol-2,” she added.

While the advantages of glutathione are well recognized, Panis-Luzano highlighted the importance of bringing out the unique properties of Fibersol-2 and lingonberry.

Fibersol-2 may be used to improve the nutritional profile and fiber content of any food application while preserving taste, quality and enjoyment for the consumer.

“There is ample research showing that fiber plays an essential role in digestive, heart and skin health, and Fibersol-2 has been scientifically proven to offer many excellent physiological and health benefits, such as moderating blood sugar levels and preventing the accumulation of visceral fat in the body,” Panis-Luzano said.

It is especially beneficial for people who have high blood glucose levels or who consume a lot of high-fat foods.

“Dr. Y Premium Glutathione is not your average glutathione,” Panis-Luzano said.

Panis-Luzano Premium Glutathione efficiently reduces acne by utilizing the extraordinary skin-protective characteristics of lingonberries.

Notably, lingonberries contain quercetin, a potent compound known for slowing the aging process and mitigating the negative effects of sun exposure on the skin.

Furthermore, the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties found in lingonberries efficiently treat acne-related issues, providing relief to people suffering from this illness.

“As a dermatologist, it is crucial for me to have a product that not only acts as a skinlightening agent but also provides practical benefits for everyday life,” she said.

“This product should address not just skin texture but also encompass the overall health of individuals and effectively combat the prevalent issue of acne, particularly among adolescents,” she added.

Brand ambassadors

The newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) Leyte winners, who will represent the province in the country’s premier beauty pageants, have been chosen as Youthplus Medical Group’s newest brand ambassadors.

MUPH-Leyte 2023 Angel Rose Tambal and Miss Philippines-Leyte 2023 Jamby Belegorio, together with BCP model and talent James Peconcillo, inked the contract on November 4 at the Youthplus Medical Center in Tacloban City.

The agreement states that the brand ambassadors must, among other things, carry out certain marketing services, give Youthplus the services in line with its terms and make efforts comparable to those usually used in live events, social media promotions and other marketing campaigns of a similar caliber and scope.

As a male brand ambassador, medical student and model, Peconcillo encourages men to place importance on their general well-being and their physical condition despite the fact that society exclusively associates beauty with the feminine gender.

“Being presentable and kind in the eyes of many people is not wrong,” Peconcillo said.

Miss Philippines-Leyte Jamby Belegorio, who represented Tacloban, detailed her intentions for conveying the vision and mission to the people of Leyte and the rest of Eastern Visayas.

“I will put together the company’s vision and mission for whatever background I have, such as social media, and wherever I go because encouragement can make a difference,” Belegorio said.

“Youthplus is one of the most effective and reliable health care solutions since it will not only enhance your physical appearance but also enhance your overall well-being,” she added.

MUPH-Leyte 2023 Angel Rose Tambal mentioned that she was a loyal Youthplus customer even before the pageant, and she has experienced firsthand that Youthplus was really helpful to her.

“Whether you are a beauty queen or not, the medical professionals here are incredibly helpful and approachable, since they provide not just skin care assistance but also life advice,” Tambal said.

“As a result, my experience during the pageant has been transformative, which is why I am grateful to Youthplus,” she added.

Youthplus aspires to be Eastern Visayas’ premier skin care specialist, not only in terms of offering exceptional treatments but also in terms of developing goods that will demonstrate the distinctive Youthplus experience to a wider spectrum of consumers.
