Henkel presents next edition of Martha Schwarzkop­f Award

FOR the third time, Henkel presents its research prize, the “Martha Schwarzkop­f Award for Women in Science,” dedicated to supporting female scientists. An additional prize for “Emerging Talents” will again be awarded this year.

The applicatio­n period begins on February 11, the Internatio­nal Day of Women and Girls in Science.

Female researcher­s with a background in natural sciences, medicine or computer sciences can apply by presenting their contributi­ons to hair research or a related field. They have the chance to win 10,000 euros for the first place, 5,000 euros for the second place, and 5,000 euros for the “Emerging Talent” prize.

The award pays tribute to Martha Schwarzkop­f, one of the first women in Germany to lead a company and establish the Institute for Hair Research.

The Award is open to female researcher­s worldwide who hold a doctorate and possess extensive experience in natural sciences, medicine and computer sciences. The award is specifical­ly for those who focus on hair research or related fields.

The winners will be invited to the award ceremony, which will be held in conjunctio­n with a scientific conference of the expanding Martha Schwarzkop­f hair network.

The applicatio­n period ends on June 1st, 2024. Female scientists who are interested can submit their applicatio­ns in English to RnD.Award@henkel.com.

The key criteria in the evaluation by the expert jury include the relevance of the work in the field of hair research, as well as its impact on consumers and the environmen­t.
