COMBINING off-road exploration with the camaraderie of outdoor enthusiasts, Isuzu Philippines Corp. With over 100 participants, the event highlighted the culture of overlanding — a lifestyle blending camping with rugged terrain driving.

IPC showcased its overlanding-ready units, including the new Isuzu D-MAX and Isuzu mu-X models, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to fostering adventure. Powered by a 4JJ3-TCX 3.0-liter Blue Power engine delivering 190 PS maximum power and 450 Nm of torque, these vehicles inspire confidence in traversing diverse terrains during overlanding adventures. Fully equipped with essential camping accessories such as awnings, roof tents, drawers, and showers, the vehicles ensured a comfortable yet adventurous experience.

Under the leadership of Joel Pedro, the Overland Kings CampOut offered participants an immersive journey into the world of overlanding. Over three days, attendees engaged in various activities aimed at building community spirit and facilitating knowledge exchange. From sponsor displays to expert talks on overlanding basics and 4x4 driving, the event catered to both novices and seasoned practitioners alike.

A highlight of the event was the Saturday night celebration, featuring offerings from Sarsa’s kitchen, acoustic entertainment, and a fireworks display commemorating the Chinese New Year. This conclusion added charm to the event and highlighted the communal ethos promoted by overlanding.

Tetsuya Fujita, IPC president, was enthusiastic about the event. “This is the lifestyle we want to promote to our customers — enjoying their vehicle in weekend activities like overlanding, and spending time with family and friends. We are delighted to participate in this event and engage with the overlanding community.”

The success of the Overland Kings CampOut in Zambales, with IPC’s active involvement, represents a significant milestone in promoting overlanding culture in the Philippines. It underscores the potential of overlanding to unite people, encouraging them to explore the outdoors while fostering a sense of community.
