60% of Pinoys satisfied with DoH – study
A SURVEY report from an independent research group Capstone-Intel showed that 60 percent of the respondents were satisfied with the Department of Health’s (DoH) overall performance.
A total of 1,205 Filipinos between 18 and 75 years old from different regions participated in the survey conducted from Aug. 1 to 10, 2023.
But the report containing the comprehensive inputs from the survey was only released this February.
The report said 27 percent of the respondents were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, while 13 percent were generally dissatisfied with the overall performance of the DoH.
Also, the survey revealed that 38 percent of Filipinos who participated were satisfied with the accessibility and affordability of health care services provided by the health agency.
However, the research group said that 31 percent were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied, and this is worth noticing as it may have other conflicting values that influence their neutrality about the accessibility and affordability of health care services.
Capstone-Intel aimed to measure public satisfaction with DoH across areas including transparency, timeliness, access to health care services and communication.
Among the DoH’s programs and services, the respondents were most familiar with the National Immunization Program at 65 percent, followed by the Family Health Program at 59 percent and the National HIV/AIDS Program at 50 percent.
In 2023, the DoH garnered a “good” performance rating from the Filipinos with the same survey conducted by the research firm.
Capstone-Intel is a research company that uses innovative research technologies, tools and methods to convert data and information into breakthrough insights, according to its profile.
Capstone-Intel Research and Publication’s Director Ella Kristina Coronel said that the group has been conducting studies on health, transportation and food security with various government agencies, including the DoH and the Department of Transportation.
