Online booking revolutionizes seafarer training
THE Online Booking Corp. (TOBC), an innovative platform designed to streamline the booking and enrollment process for maritime training, celebrated its launch on Monday, February 19, at Citadines Bay Hotel Manila.
Founded by a team of professionals with extensive experience in the maritime industry, TOBC addresses the critical pain points seafarers face with manual enrollment processes by offering a digital solution that simplifies access to essential training programs.
The team is composed of Maritime crewing veteran Elmer Pulumbarit, Evangeline Sawad and lawyer Joanne Pasion.
The launch was a significant milestone, marking the beginning of a new chapter in maritime education and training (MET) aimed at empowering seafarers with the tools they need to advance their careers, meet regulatory requirements, and ensure their safety at sea.
By providing a centralized platform where seafarers can find, compare, and enroll in maritime training courses, TOBC makes professional development more accessible and efficient.
A vision for the future of maritime training
TOBC was born out of a recognition of the challenges seafarers face in accessing quality training.
The traditional manual booking systems are not only timeconsuming but often lead to delays and missed opportunities. TOBC’s founders leveraged their industry insights to create a solution that enhances seafarers’ training experience and supports training providers in reaching a wider audience.
TOBC offers a comprehensive range of maritime training courses, from basic safety training to advanced navigational courses. The platform caters to the needs of both new entrants and seasoned professionals in the maritime sector, ensuring that all seafarers have the opportunity to enhance their skills and comply with international maritime regulations.
