CLSU graduates urged to join agriculture
DEPARTMENT of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. has encouraged the new graduates of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) to join the agriculture sector.
“Learning does not stop the moment you receive your diploma because learning is a continuous process. You should continue to hone and enhance your crafts THROUGH fiRSTHAND EXPERIENCES AND new ventures,” Tiu Laurel said.
The Agriculture secretary was guest of honor and commencement speaker at CLSU’s 33rd Midyear Commencement Exercises for the 594 graduates who received their academic degrees including 111 who marched with academic honors and special awards at the Dr. Pedro A. Abella Graduation Site on February 16.
Tiu Laurel was represented by Eduardo Lapuz Jr., DA Region 3 (Central Luzon) director, to convey the Agriculture secretary’s congratulations to the graduates.
He advised the graduates “to be lifelong learners as they would continue to gain knowledge and expertise throughout their professional careers.”
The Agriculture secretary encouraged the new graduates “to pursue careers in the agriculture sector and help achieve the aspiration of the country in advancing agriculture in terms of mechanization and production.”
“We are encouraging you to join hands with the Department of Agriculture in implementing our projects that will make the country reclaim its status as a top agriculture country in Asia,” Tiu Laurel said.
During the event, former DA Region 3 director Crispulo Bautista Jr. was awarded a plaque of appreciation along with other former members of the CLSU Board of Regents, former CLSU president and vice chairman Edgar Orden, faculty regent Randolf Warren Gregorio Mayo 3rd and alumni regent Romeo Padilla.
