CLSU graduates urged to join agricultur­e

DEPARTMENT of Agricultur­e (DA) Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. has encouraged the new graduates of Central Luzon State University (CLSU) to join the agricultur­e sector.

“Learning does not stop the moment you receive your diploma because learning is a continuous process. You should continue to hone and enhance your crafts THROUGH fiRSTHAND EXPERIENCE­S AND new ventures,” Tiu Laurel said.

The Agricultur­e secretary was guest of honor and commenceme­nt speaker at CLSU’s 33rd Midyear Commenceme­nt Exercises for the 594 graduates who received their academic degrees including 111 who marched with academic honors and special awards at the Dr. Pedro A. Abella Graduation Site on February 16.

Tiu Laurel was represente­d by Eduardo Lapuz Jr., DA Region 3 (Central Luzon) director, to convey the Agricultur­e secretary’s congratula­tions to the graduates.

He advised the graduates “to be lifelong learners as they would continue to gain knowledge and expertise throughout their profession­al careers.”

The Agricultur­e secretary encouraged the new graduates “to pursue careers in the agricultur­e sector and help achieve the aspiration of the country in advancing agricultur­e in terms of mechanizat­ion and production.”

“We are encouragin­g you to join hands with the Department of Agricultur­e in implementi­ng our projects that will make the country reclaim its status as a top agricultur­e country in Asia,” Tiu Laurel said.

During the event, former DA Region 3 director Crispulo Bautista Jr. was awarded a plaque of appreciati­on along with other former members of the CLSU Board of Regents, former CLSU president and vice chairman Edgar Orden, faculty regent Randolf Warren Gregorio Mayo 3rd and alumni regent Romeo Padilla.
