MARS Alba made a much introduction wearing the purple and white jersey.

The Choco Mucho Flying Titans opened their season strong after a 25-12, 25-22, 25-18 sweep-victory over the Nxled Chameleons in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) 2024 All-Filipino Conference at the Filoil EcoOil Centre on Thursday, February 22.

Alba’s playmaking skill shined in her new team, tallying 18 excellent sets, and made a remarkable game-sealing one-two play to end the match.

“I am thankful to have this opportunity. I am just following the system since I am still new, and I want to give everything to help the team,” Alba said.

“I still need to adjust since I am still new with the team, but overall it is manageable and I am grasping the system bit by bit.”

Previous conference starter setter Deanna Wong was seen not wearing a uniform and was on the sidelines in Choco

Mucho’s first PVL game due to her nagging knee injury.

Alba admitted that her role to fill is big, and she is grateful for Wong’s guidance.

“It’s a challenge of course the shoes that I will fill in is not easy. Given the last conference, they are silver medalists.”

Using Alba as her starter, coach Dante Alinsunurin said he is glad to have Alba in their team, and on how she executed in their first match.

“I am grateful for Alba’s decision to choose us (Choco Mucho). We really want to have her, since we know that she’s going to help the team, and this can be a game-changer for us,” Alinsunurin said.

“Still, there are things that she has to improve. But overall, I saw the things that I wanted to see. I really hope that her performance will continue to excel,” he added.

During her collegiate years, Alba was a UAAP Champion, Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP), and also received the UAAP Season 85 Best Setter awards with De La Salle University.
