2 pushers yield P6.8M shabu in Lanao del Sur
LANAO DEL SUR: Authorities from various law enforcement agencies arrested two drug suspects during a buy-bust on Wednesday, February 21, in Barangay Pindolonan, Bubong town, this province.
Based on the report of Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office, the two suspects were identified only as alias Ustadz and alias Jal, both residents of Lanao del Sur.
The two were apprehended by joint personnel of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Lanao del Sur PPO, PDEA RO BARMMRSET, and Bubong Municipal Police Station, among others.
During the operation, operatives seized about 1,000 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million.
The arrested individuals are now in the custody of PDEA-BARMM.
BGen. Allan Nobleza, regional director of Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR), lauded the operating units for the arrest of the two target pushers.
He said the outcome of the operation serves as a testament to the effectiveness of inter-agency cooperation to safeguard communities from the menace of illegal drugs.
Meanwhile, Sultan Kudarat PNP chief LtCol. Esmael Madin told reporters that during the joint buybust with the 4th Maneuver Platoon 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, more than P340,000 worth of shabu was also seized in Barangay Cabuntalan at around 6 p.m. on Friday, February 23.
However, the suspect identified as alias Datu was able to escape during the operation after sensing he was transacting with a law enforcer disguised as a buyer.
Madin said they have dispatched a mobile patrol to track down the whereabouts of the suspect.
